Ace or not? Manoa loses again, personal sixth straight…Toronto’s two-game winning streak ends, Milwaukee Tehran wins for first time in two years

Toronto Blue Jays ace Alex Manoa, 25, the American League (AL) Cy Young Award winner last year, has been sent packing early again. He has now lost six straight starts.

The Blue Jays dropped a 2-4 home game against the Milwaukee Brewers of the 2023 Major League Baseball World Series at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on Monday.

With the end of their recent two-game winning streak, Toronto fell to 29-27, while Milwaukee remained in sole possession of first place in the National League Central at 29-26.

Toronto starter Manoa suffered his sixth loss of the season, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts in four innings. Since earning his first win of the season on 6 April against the Kansas City Royals, he has gone 10 games without a victory and six losses. His ERA rose to 5.46.먹튀검증

After a scoreless first inning, Manoa gave up a walk to Brian Anderson and a two-run homer to Abraham Toro in the second. A three-pitch 91.9 mph four-seam fastball in a two-strike advantageous count was driven high for a long ball.

He got out of the third with a strikeout, but a walk and a single in the fourth put runners on first and second with no outs. He retired the next three batters without allowing another run, but his pitch count rose to 89. He turned the mound over to Trevor Richards to start the fifth. Didn’t make it past the fifth inning for the second straight game since April 26 against the Tampa Bay Rays (five runs in three innings).

Toronto rallied in the fifth on Kevin Kiermaier’s RBI triple, but reliever Joel Pyampas gave up two runs on three straight singles with one out in the seventh.

Milwaukee starter Julio Teheran earned his first win of the season with six innings of four-hit, no walks and one unearned run. Teheran, who returned to the majors after signing with Milwaukee on 26 March, earned his first win in two years, one month and 27 days (788 days) since 4 April 2021 against the Cleveland Indians with the Detroit Tigers.
