K-League 2 opens in March… Cheonan-Cheongju joining new teams

The K-League 2 opens the door to a long run in March.

The Korea Professional Football Federation (President Kwon Oh-gap) announced the regular round schedule for the 2023 K League 2 on the 26th.

This season, K-League 2 will feature 13 clubs, including newly joined Cheonan City FC and Chungbuk Cheongju FC, and each team will play 36 matches.

All six games of the opening round of the 2023 season will be held in Section 3.1, and will be divided into 13:30 and 16:00 to play three games each. In the opening round, Gyeongnam and Bucheon, who clashed in the semi-playoff last year, will meet on the 1st (Wednesday) at 1:30 pm at the Changwon Soccer Center.

At the same time, the match between Chungcheongnam-do Asan and Gimcheon will be held at Yi Sun-sin Sports Complex, and Chungbuk Cheongju, who challenged the K-League 2 stage alongside Cheonan, will go on an expedition to Mok-dong Sports Complex to face Seoul E-Land.

‘Monday Night Football’ held on Monday evening continues this year. It will be held 13 times, once for each team, and the first ‘Monday Night Football’ of the season will be held on July 3rd (Mon) at 7:00 pm Anyang and Seongnam.

After completing round 39 of the regular round, the playoffs for the K-League 1 begin. The K-League 2 4th and 5th place semi-playoffs will be held on November 29th (Wednesday), and the K-League 2 3rd place and semi-playoff winning teams will be held on December 2nd (Sat). The promotion playoffs will be held on December 6 (Wed) and 9 (Sat) in a home & away format.
