Shin Yu-bin ‘Splendid run’ begins

Shin Yu-bin (19, Korean Air, photo), who is called the ‘table tennis fairy’, predicted the upheaval of the Korea Professional Table Tennis League (KTTL).

Shin Yu-bin competed in the 2023 Two Trees KTTL Korea League Women’s POSCO International match held at Suwon Gwanggyo Gymnasium (Studio T) on the 5th, she competed in 1st and 4th singles and won all.

Shin Yu-bin said that her match on this day was her KTTL debut match and her first domestic competition since the September 2021 Spring Unemployment Competition.

Yubin Shin injured her right wrist at the 2021 World Championships and missed her first season at KTTL.

Shin Yu-bin won both opponents in her belated debut match by a set score of 2-0.

If her first opponent, her strong forehand drive shone in the face-to-face confrontation with her one-year-old rival, Kim Na-young, her second opponent, Yang Ha-eun, showed off her leisurely operation without distinction between forehand and backhand.

Yang Ha-eun (29) was an ace who won three gold medals at the 76th SeAH National Men’s and Women’s Comprehensive Table Tennis Championships last month and enjoyed her ‘second heyday’ and had 11 undefeated wins at KTTL until just before.

Shin Yu-bin through her weight training, her original strength, backhand, followed by her forehand, and hitting with strength showed her effectiveness.

Shin Yubin’s barbell lifted while squatting before her injury was 80kg, but she has now lifted it to 100kg. In fact, Nayoung Kim once took a 6-3 lead in the first set and increased her momentum, but she also poured out mistakes in Shin Yubin’s powerful attack.

Shin Yu-bin said, “It was 메이저사이트my first game, so I was under a lot of pressure. She went into the game with a spirit of challenge, and it came out well,” she laughs.

Shin Yubin is still complaining of her pain in the injured area. Participating in the game with taping on, he explained that his wrist was at 80% of its pre-injury level.

Korean Air coach Kim Kyung-ah welcomed, saying, “I thought (Shin) Yubin would compete with anxiety about the condition of his wrist, but he overcame it well.” He added, “If Shin Yubin meets various opponents at KTTL, his skill recovery will be faster.”

If Shin Yu-bin continues to show the same performance as now, Korean Air’s first KTTL championship challenge will also be empowered. Korean Air lost 2-3 to Posco International that day and remains in third place. After finishing the regular league by the 22nd, KTTL will proceed to the semi-playoffs (3rd and 4th places), playoffs, and championship match in order.
